During my PhD, I co-created, coordinated and curated "5 Minutes of Drawing" (FBAUL), a research project funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Portugal). I am currently a member of the research project "Sensclusion: Sense of Place and Sociospatial Inclusion in Vulnerable Neighborhoods," funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities (Spain). I am also the curator of IE School of Architecture and Design lecture series, bringing together voices from global North and South. Over the past years, I've lectured at design and architecture institutions such as EINA and ETSAB in Barcelona, and at events such as Madrid Design Festival or Barcelona Dibuixa.

Previously to academia, I spent for over 8 years working as a designer and producer at Google, Roche, and startups in Latin America and Europe.

My research interests lie at the intersection of design, art, innovation and technology in the context of post-digitalization and acceleration. I explore these topics through phenomenology, affective atmospheres, relational, slow and situated design/art practices urban and natural environments.

73 Barcelonas, Model. Festival d'Arquitectures de Barcelona

The Model festival 2023, promoted by Barcelona City Council, was organized through the Mies van der Rohe Foundation and has the artistic direction of Eva Franch and Gilabert, in collaboration with a large team of architects, curators and commissioners and more than 50 institutions and organizations of the city selected through an open call. The festival aims to transform the urban space into a platform for emerging architectural talent and design, the city into a meeting forum for thought leaders from all over and, more significantly, architecture into a space of exploration and inspiration for all citizens.

The “73 Barcelonas” exhibition, as spaces for study and dissemination, aspired to provide new perspectives that could both feed the collective imagination and question historical narratives. The “73 Barcelonas” exhibition was curated by the winners of the Model Award Noa Yarkoni, Mar Gené and Tiffany B. Whittaker (Barcelona), where drawings of the city of Barcelona from 73 different points of view, from the city's neighborhoods.

The exhibition could be visited from April 20 to 30 2023 in the Design Museum of Barcelona (DHUB).

----

The piece presented was entitled “Short-circuit” and it raised the question on how can we radically question the ground we stand on? If the word radical refers to the root, in this tactile-visual cartography, I explore an unstructured short-circuit of the land between Plaza de la Gardunya and Plaza Sant Galdric. In the heart of the Raval, the sheet of paper navigates the cobbled surface, like a skin tattooed with casual or causal acts, forming a network of language between the human-non-human, the past-future, the ephemeral-permanent. In an attempt to identify alternatives to the ruins of capitalism, I sharpen my – anthropocentric – gaze at the marginal and at the multiple temporalities that resist or that mark its presence-absence on the pavement. The tiling is allowed to be evacuated, chewed, deposed, abandoned, rooted, walked. The soil witnesses and gives way to a radical terrestrial ecosystem, which sediments or dissolves with each new footprint.
