Women, despite the progress achieved in recent decades, continue to be rendered invisible in various areas of everyday life, especially in public and representational spaces. This absence is the result of a series of practices and omissions that have historically relegated women to a secondary role. MITO#21, within the framework of the SENSCLUSION* project, works on these issues together with the Memory and Gender Commission of the Sant Martí district of Barcelona, a collective space that promotes participatory processes to recover the historical memory of women and contribute to the symbolic transformation of the city. The project has focused on renaming Theolongo Bacchio Square —a historical figure of questionable existence— in order to introduce the name Gerda Taro, a pioneering photojournalist who documented the Spanish Civil War. This initiative brings into dialogue two forms of invisibility: that of a possibly fictional character occupying public space, and that of a real woman who practiced her profession under a male pseudonym. Considered a key figure in the early days of modern photojournalism, Gerda Taro worked alongside her former partner Endre Friedmann, often under the shared identity of Robert Capa, which contributed to obscuring her authorship for decades. In this context, we participated in the presentation event of the new Gerda Taro Square, in collaboration with the Memory and Gender Commission, with the screening of a video created by Pablo Coronado jointly with the theater group of the Àmbar Prim Women’s Association, a local organization involved in the fight for women’s visibility and rights. The event also features war journalist Marc Marginedas as a patron. This process, despite its transformative nature, has not been without tensions. The “73 Barcelonas” exhibition was curated by the winners of the Model Award Noa Yarkoni, Mar Gené and Tiffany B. Whittaker (Barcelona), where drawings of the city of Barcelona from 73 different points of view, from the city's neighborhoods. The exhibition could be visited from April 20 to 30 2023 in the Design Museum of Barcelona (DHUB).&nbsp; ----The piece presented was entitled “Short-circuit” and it raised the question on how can we radically question the ground we stand on? If the word radical refers to the root, in this tactile-visual cartography, I explore an unstructured short-circuit of the land between Plaza de la Gardunya and Plaza Sant Galdric. In the heart of the Raval, the sheet of paper navigates the cobbled surface, like a skin tattooed with casual or causal acts, forming a network of language between the human-non-human, the past-future, the ephemeral-permanent. In an attempt to identify alternatives to the ruins of capitalism, I sharpen my – anthropocentric – gaze at the marginal and at the multiple temporalities that resist or that mark its presence-absence on the pavement. The tiling is allowed to be evacuated, chewed, deposed, abandoned, rooted, walked. Using the new Nissan Kicks car with a Street View-approved camera mounted on top, we travelled along the waterfront and the most iconic places in Rio to capture daily content, resulting in more than fifty 360º images that show the Olympic atmosphere. Google &amp; Adidas for World Cup&nbsp;(2014)During the World Cup 2014, adidas partnered with Google to create together an online scavenger hunt game, the "All in or nothing challenge", where users would search for pieces of the adidas Brazuca ball using Google Street View and Maps. Using Google Maps and Street View, users were able to access the stadiums, explore the host cities, and respond to questions following the history of the World Cup and of adidas-sponsored players, in their quest to win the prizes. Winners of the day could win the official Brazuca balls used on the real World Cup field.I was responsible for building the game user flow and mechanics, along with overseeing wireframes, design and development of mobile, tablet, ad units and desktop websites. Project resulted in more than 320k players in less than 1 month! Awards:- The Webby Awards: Nominee &amp; Honoree in Interactive &amp; Media (Digital Campaigns)- CLIO Sports: Bronze in Digital/Social Games category Chariots of Fire(2016) To celebrate the night side of the Olympics 2016, when fans and athletes test their physical prowess for partying, Skol, one of Brazil's major beer brands partnered with Google Brazil to launch an interactive music video DJ experience for an Olympics anthem: a carioca funk version of the classic "Chariots of Fire". This project pushes the boundaries of Google Chrome through WebGL, WebAudio and interactivity specially on mobile. A simple UI that resembles a DJ soundboard allowed anyone to start playing the moment they arrive on desktop or mobile. Users could DJ and VJ, creating their own remix of the whole experience. As users get to end, they'd change the story with the mix created, discovering one of 36 different finales. The experience is an interactive video clip created by F/Nazca and Google and directed &amp; produced by one of the most awarded Interactive Film Directors in the world - Vincent Morisset from AATOAA (Arcade Fire's Just a Reflektor, Way to Go). This project was very experimental and my responisibility was to coordinate the execution including overseeing production and launch of the platform with a team of developers, creatives and Vincent's team.Highlights:– 15+ PR hits (including coverage in Creativity Online and B9) Posters designed (2011-2016) Series of posters I created and produced from 2013-2016 for the ZOO, the creative team at Google. IX is a User Experience team focused on researching and designing how Google users at emerging markets (Brazil, India, Mexico, Indonesia and Russia) engage with technology. Their brief for the brand design was to represent the blend of different cultures, without using one specific color that could relate to one of the countries they worked for and it also had to follow Google's Material Design guidelines. After collecting the first references, I started sketching possible solutions, which ranged from designs that represented the global team and, on the other hand, simple ways of using the letters I+X (International Experience) and picking with the Head of Design (Laura Garcia-Barrio) the 4 most interesting proposals. This collaboration&nbsp;defines a strategy based on content as well as the type of interaction and&nbsp;guarantees the commitment of each learner.Brother Tongue is recognised as a training organisation by La Direccte (Regional direction for enterprises, competition, consumption, work and employment) and can be found on the official list of training organisations at data.gouv.fr. The app and technology had previously been developed, but recently the startup changed its strategy from B2C to B2B2C and needed a new version of the app that encompassed the new positioning. Limited time: 15 hours to design the entire app. Beta release in 2 weeks. My goals were: 1. Deliver user flow, UI/mockups and styleguide of the new version of the app 2. Collaborative creation and process with the developer and CEO 2. Inspired by the title of the radio show “5 Minutes of Jazz”, by José Duarte (Portugal), it aimed to disseminate academic research, artistic work or scientific articles in the field of Drawing through the presentation of 5-minute videos. The project last from 2020 to 2022. In two years, we totalised 104 guests (40% international), 157.000 impressions and 2.700 views per post on Instagram. In the first week of each month 5 videos were presented on themes in the field of Drawing. In the second week, the authors of the videos participated in a live conversation with the organization of the event, allowing interaction with the public and the exploration of the theme presented in greater depth. Inviting the participation of an international public, this project promoted research carried out on different continents, seeking to bring together institutions and researchers of different nationalities, encouraging the participation of students of various academic degrees. The project was featured at the&nbsp;Sociedad Iberoamericana de Gráfica Digital, SIGraDi, International congress. Article here. Based on Agnès Garda's phrase “If we opened people up, we would find landscapes” (2009), three drawing experiments were carried out: (1) drawings that trace the movement, angles and changes of a local tree discovered during one of the main walks (2) drawings and collages that move the tree to a larger ecosystem, using the material (charcoal) that this same tree offered within (3) large-scale self-portraits as perceptions of bodily and psychic territories triggered by these interactions with the landscape. The plant used for object of study was Alma, in reference to being an almond tree in Almería region in Spain. Drawing, as a sensitive tool of the gaze, engenders a form of attention to bring the outside world inside. Its stroke carries the quality of the artist's presence during the making. And, as John Berger puts it, “for the artist to draw is to discover” (2007). When drawing, one discovers that what sustains the visible is through the ability to contemplate. Thus, who draws is not the hand, but the eye. The hand simply expresses what is already drawn in the eye. In a world increasingly focused on new technologies and quick resolution of creative problems, the practice of drawing can awaken us to discover other non-human temporalities and sensitive ways of being in the world.
